Pana TH42PZ80 vs Sony KDL-40HX803 - Any views??

Hi All - I have an unusual dillema. I have a 42" 100Hz Panasonic plasma (TH42PZ80) which is about 2 years old and I'm thinking of replacing it with a new Sony 40" LCD (Sony KDL-40HX803). I'm not worried about losing 2" of screen but Plasma used to have the better pictures and black levels, and there is a lot of talk about issues with the new generation of LCDs. I will be using SkyHD, PS3 and a Sony 3D Blu-Ray player as sources (though I have no plans to watch much/any 3D at present).

I would welcome any views on which of these two is better?

If you can hold out a little longer all the manufacturers will be launching their new ranges and I assume will offer a better over level of performance over the 2010 models.
