No adjustment necessary on mine (and I use the thicker P3 mat).
The top of the arm stills tapers downward from bearing to headshell (and the bottom of the arm taper up) when playing so the effect on VTA is minimal.
You need to adjust the damped cueing platform up a 'smidge' with the aid of a 1.27mm (1/20th inch) Allen key to lock the position. (Easily bought individually from ebay)
