I have an old amplifier (JVC A-X4 Super-A) which is 60 watts and i want to buy 2 speakers which are 190 watts each (magnat monitor supreme 1002). Do you think that my amplifier is too weak for the speakers or will it be ok?
I'm no expert by any means but I think I would first be concerned with the impedance of the speakers and making sure they are a match for the amp. Otherwise if think the amp would drive the speakers fine. Especially I the 190w spec is a peak wattage rating.
Ash is correct, you can pretty much ignore the speaker 190 watts figure and, assuming they are not something with ridiculously low impedance, your amp should have no difficulty driving them.
Just seen they are 89 dB and listed as 4 to 8 ohm so pretty easy to drive and they will go quite loud with your amp
I don't think it's very good for your case because using 190 watts is too much for each speaker. If you want to know the results then you can try. slope game
