I didn't think the Fire HD was in the UK yet? It's a Nexus 7 anyway...

Good choice. I imagine it's nice to grab hold of a solid 7 incher 🙂

Hope you had a good 'un. Was out all day in my latest purchase yesterday (10' inflatable pool), hence not logging on here to catch your birthday.:help:

There is a first time for everything, certainly. Now, does anybody know how to stop the keyboard making clicking noises while I type?

EDIT - scratch that, Google was my friend.

So have you abandoned your iPhones/iPads now?

Will you be able to stream from it or use it to control your system?

(Sorry but I don't know if the Nexus is a tablet or phone or both. I tend to 'zone out' unless it's Apple.)

What will you do if the forthcoming iPad Mini is (a) real (b) really good (c) a good price ?

No, I'm just curious to see what Android is all about*.

I've no doubt the iPad mini will arrive on Tuesday, and the price will at least by trying to knock on the door of 200 quid, but in the end it'll still be an iPad, and I've got one of them, so there's none of the excitement of discovering something new.

*thus far, Android appears to be about good quality hardware, some curious UI design choices, and apps that are either inferior to their iPad equivalents, non-functional on Jellybean, or simply don't exist at all.

I just find that the 7-inch screen is a bit too small to surf the internet. But the light weight is a huge avantage in games like Temple Run as compared to the iPad.

Try playing it, vey addictive! 🙂

I think the 7" is OK for surfing (and better for thumb typing than the iPad), but its perfect as a Kindle (which was the original reason I managed to justify an iPad).

My iPhone screen is ok for surfing when out and about* but I have to read it either from table-top distance or held up about 8" from my face. An iPad would be way too big for carrying everywhere when I'm out. Somewhere between the two (that is 100% AirPlay/iTunes compatible) will be ideal and useful at home too.

*The big iPad would be superfluous at home, where we have four computers already.

Today is one of the very rare days I've switched my laptop on (as I'm completing a module written in Flash). It's usually my iPad otherwise for general surfing at home. 🙂
