Onkyo TX-SR313 or Yamaha RX-V373??

1) My experience is different with even the newer players. I've demoed Oppo 103 & did nit notice any improvement in blu ray playback.

2) Your friend has a Meridian system which can bring out the sound improvement. Besides, the S790 forms only a small proportion of the AV budget. The OP's case is different.

hey you seem a knowledgeable man when it comes to this field. what speakers would you recommend to go with a yamaha rx-v373?my budget would be on the lower end/entry level of the scale.thanks in advance

that much of a jump in audio quality?all im interested in really.dont care about any extra functions/features.jus need it for blu ray surround sound.thx

An AV receiver is the heart of any home cinema system, and you should hear a step up in audio quality with the 473. Why don't you demo both & decide if the improvement is worth £40?
