In the latest issue the Onkyo A-9010 amplifier gets a review. This a review of the UK version of the amp. The rest of Europe gets the same amp but with a built in DAC. Will this version of the amp sound the same ? Because the UK version is tuned for the UK market.

Not sure what the point of the 9010 is when the 9030 is around 30 quid cheaper... i just got the 9030 and like it (not exactly an expert though).

The A9010 (UK) is specially tuned for the UK and not simply a standard A9010 minus the DAC. There is a review by David Price in the latest HFC as well, and it is very positive. The adaptations include changes to choice of capacitors and the heatsinking and, as DP says in his review, the whole idea is a hark back to the 90s when Japanese amps like the Pioneer A400, Kenwood KA3020SE and various Sony models were specially tuned for UK ears.

As for its relationship to the A9030, it seems there are substantial variances in sound between all 3 affordable Onkyo models if you take the reviews into account, so you pays your money and you makes your choice!

It would be nice if What Hifi could compare the two different models. You can't buy the reviewed UK model in the rest of Europe.
