A long long way beyond there!

You're looking for distortion in your speakers as the sign you've gone too far. With the Onk being as powerful as it is, your ears will hurt before you start to hurt it. Concentrate on your speakers and if you hear it clipping or distorting at all, turn it back down.

I had a Denon and now have the 905 and the numbering of the volume and how it graduates upwards is a little different. I'd trust your ears and don't be scared to raise the volume. Good luck keeping your hearing if you're in single digits, but if your speakers are not distorting, you should be ok.

I wouldnt worry about the numbers just go by how loud it is to you in the room. The Onkyo will go up past zero but i would suggest zero is pretty loud on that amp for stereo playback.
