Onkyo 876, 906 cooling fan noise

Hello, i'm looking to upgrade to one of the above Onkyo receivers ( from Denon 3805 ) i'd like some info from owners of these receivers as to wether or not the cooling fans ( assuming onkyo's use cooling fans ) are at all noisy or bothersome.

I know these beasts generate heat which i don't mind as the new member of the family will sit, pride of place on the top shelf, what concerns me is the cooling fans, i had a Denon 3300 a few yrs ago and the fan kicked in after 10 minutes and drove me nuts.

I listen at low to moderate volumes at best, so cranking the volume to cover fan noise won't do.

Any advice from owners would be much appreciated.

I have the 905 and I've never heard a peep out it.

I have a 876 and likewise have never heard a peep out of it. Wonderful piece of kit imho.

Just thought I'd also mention that I upgraded from the 3802 (the slightly older version of the 3805) and the difference is sound quality is quite marked

i have a 906 great amp no noises and you can get lots of info on another site-906 tread. go buy and enjoy.

876 owner and again no noise - never heard a fan cut in yet even after 12 hours use on a hot day - it does get hot esp back right hand corner but never had an issue

Many thanks for the responses, it reassuring to hear that you fella's haven't been affected by any fan noise.

Now to track a Onkyo 876 in silver at the best price.

No problems with my 906 either, quality amp all the way.
