Onkyo 875 video output

Does the upscaling on the Onkyo automatically adjust to the screen its connected to? I have an 875 connected to a 1080p tv but was wondering if i connect it to my 720p projector will the onkyo step the picture down to 720p or will it send it as 1080p and then the projector with down scale the image to 720P? Can i alter the setting to 720p in any of the menus?

I think if you have it set to Auto, it detects the maximum resolution for your screen - my 905 certainly seems to do this as it pumps everything out at 720p. If you want to, you can set it to output everything at 1080p by choosing this in the output menu.

cheers for that - i couldn't check anything as mine went bang and i have had to return it and all instructions waiting for replacement
