I have an Onkyo 606 on order that will be used with a Panasonic TH-42PZ81B. I have already allocated a use for each of the 4 HDMI inputs (DVD Recorder / Blu Ray / PS3 and SKY HD). I understand that it will be necessary to use up one of the two Optical inputs on the Onkyo with a signal from the SkyHD box in addition to the HDMI, is this correct ? If so why ?
The TV has a Digital Optical output. So if I want to hear the TV sound (Freeview and/or Freesat) through the amplifier rather than its own speakers, then I assume that this would use the second optical input on the Onkyo with that input being assigned as AUX, is this correct?
