Onkyo 605 or other choice?

My amp is about to die and I am considering replacing it with an onkyo 605. My reason for delaying is that I can see myself having at least 4 devices with HDMI. Is there a good amp for around the same price with more HDMI sockets? Is there another solution?

Also, I will be replacing my 12 year old speaker system later on this year. Whats good out there?

Check out the new Onkyo 606 ............. the replacement model for the 605............... with 4 HDMI inputs!

There are various threads on this forum already talking about it.

Yeah definitely wait for the 606. It should be out in the next few months and will probably cost around the £400 mark.

I think that is a resounding "GET THE ONKYO 606!".... and I would have to agree. I have the 605 and have no complaints.

i have the 605 and love it but as is the thing with upgrading wait to see what hi fi's review because they may say that if you can do with only 2 hdmis in go for the 605 it has happened in the past that better isnt always better plus when the 606 comes out there will be all sorts of deals on the 605 so wait and see what gos on bit if there is any advice i can give right now is that onkyo is king of the receivers

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I didn't know about this new box, so I have decided to wait and see what the reviews are like. If they are that bad then I will probably go for the 605 and find some sort of switch, but I don't see how they can be that bad. I hope they are not as it would be much more convenient to go for the new one.
