Onkyo 506 sound problem

Hi experts!

I've recently programmed my Onk 506 remote to control both my Sony TV and Sony DVD player. Now I am happy that I can use one remote for TV, DVD and amp. But sadly, new problem arising that is the sound never come out in the "DVD mode". When I switch to CBL/SAT or CD mode, the sound is there. Yet, it went silent if I switch back to the DVD mode. My questions;

1. What is that to do with the remote control set-up? Is it related?

2. If yes, should I reprogram the remote back? How?

Sounds like you have an incorrect input assignment on the DVD input. How is the DVD player connected to the Onkyo, and what settings do you have on that input?

I connect the DVD directly to the TV using HDMI then I connect the DVD to Onk 506 using Digital Optical.

Well, you need to make sure that the optical input you're using is assigned to the DVD input on the Onkyo.

Are you saying that you get sound from the DVD player when using CBL/SAT or CD inputs, or from other sources connected to those inputs?

I'll try to check the input assignment when I go home. I am saying that i will get the sound from the DVD player when using CBL/SAT or CD mode (when pressing those mode on the remote).
