Well after much too-ing and frowing I bought the Samsung LE46C650.

Reasons were:

Seen this TV side by side with the UE7000 LED today, and TBH I could not see a huge huge difference.

I only noticed a slight dullness in the C650 when you stepped way off to the side, which I am not going to do, but the picture quality remained the same from right in front at 12oclock to then moving about 4 steps to the side and it was still amazing.

The internet TV is a bonus, and it plays DTS with MKV files over the network, which I have not seen any other tv being able to do.

I could have got it online, for 720.00 with a 3 year warranty, but this panel lottery thing really got to me, so paid the extra 80.00 and got it from my local costco. but with that I have a 5 year warranty, as long as I stay a member, and they have a no questions asked return policy, which is priceless.

The wife is helping me take down the LG 42LD450 ready for ebay, or the neighbour, and will post a full better review.

But another review said, this is one of the best LCD screens he has EVER seen and the blacks rival most plasmas.[:O]

Look forward to the next three years worth of installments while you decide on a surround sound to go with it!

Yeh and its only taken 2055 posts,, LOL

Got my system and tv, just working on a good NAS/Media streamer that has good gigabit support.

But have my eye on the new I5 2500k bundles, they look sweet, But someone else on another forum will have the joy of listening to my rants.

I will get there in the end.

Seriously, if there is one thing that we all have in common on this forum it's an obsession with perfection.

Hope you're delighted with your new set!

Congratulations, you cant beat Costco for piece of mind and returns policy, plus you have 90 days to change your mind if you dont quite like it.....priceless!

i am keen on the Samsung LE46C750, are they the same specs apart from the C750 being 3D?

Thanks

I found some excellent settings for my old LE40B650 which really transformed the picture, they might work for this slightly updated model too.

Forum rules prevent me from giving you a direct link, or even a hint, but if you really would like them I'll try to help you out. Let me know

PS. Your right about viewing from angles, the picture does get washed out, but head on, I thought it was excellent, and I wouldn't have sold it if I'd bought the 46" instead of the 40"

Thanks guys.

Are the setting on that place were they did the review, were he said the C650 was the best LCD he ever seen?

Or is it different, let me know, so I can try out, tell me what to put in google and how many top from the top.

Nice 1

I couldn't possibly say exactly which one it is on google, but having checked some, your settings seem the same.

Are you finding the picture a bit dull ?

I did at first, and I've received some feedback by B.I.T.S that he was less than impressed with the settings for his tv.

But initially I went up to 6 on the backlight and plus 2 on Gamma to help with the impact of such a different picture, then gradually reduced these settings to get to the recommended settings.

Eventually I was rewarded with an excellent picture, which I occasionally tweaked for specific programme content

How's the picture looking? Have you tried the settings from that website?

I have been waiting for cat 6 cables, so have not done yet.

Want to update first then do the settings.

But I got to say this is one AMAZING TV, how can they sell such quality, when others are bringing out garbage, well apart from LG.

MKV files with DTS.. Simply amazing. my own media streamer in my TV. Internet TV as well and the picture and blacks... well

straight out of the box.. Again, something panasonic and sony should take note of.

Too bad could not see any reviews for the C series LCD on what hi-fi as others have reviewed this TV in-depth, saying its the best LCD they have ever seen.

I would buy again if I had the money, and TBH if I had 2000.00 I would buy again, and spend the rest on beer and Blu-rays.

Watched the Cleveland show with the motion plus on, and it is so amazing with Cartoons, I cant belive this TV cost 800 with a 5 year warranty.

AMAZING

AMAZING

AMAZING

Best TV out of what I seen without spending 2000.00
