One for All URC7780 remote

I've recently bought one of these and was very happy with it until it sopped working today. When you put the batteries in the lights are on and the power button blinks constantly and I can't get it to do anything else until take out the batteries again.

Has anyone else experienced this with one of these remotes?

I've found out that it's because I tried to update the remote via wav file without clearing/resetting the memory first so now I'm sending it back for repair.
