I'm just a user of normal everyday tv, rarely watch dvds, and I don't have an HD service, though I do have a virgin box. Would itbe worth my while to purchase a Pioneer 42MXE20 which I understand is an older model, or should I get one of the new G or V series Panasonic? I'd welcome some advice 🙂

I would go with the Panasonic as it's full HD. You might want to go down that road in the future.

The G series has had great reviews, and some recon it's as good as the Kuro.

The MXE20 is a commercial panel. Dont think it has HDMI or SCART connections??

Thank you both, after searching around on-line I'm inclined to either go with the Panasonic, or bite the bullet and go with the 50" Pioneer. Not sure what I'd do with such a large screen, still, I read they are very good 🙂

You might have difficulty getting one at the moment as they're in short
supply. I understand all new sets are being sourced from abroad.

If you can get one with a 5 year warranty you will be a very happy bunny, they are simply great.

It's surprising how soon you get used to the size, wish I'd got a 60" now.
