Have an old amp with no HDMI, a bluray player and sky HD.

I have to keep swapping the optical lead from the sky box to the bluray player depending on which im using in order to get audio through the amp.

Its a pain in the......

Is there any way of connecting both?

Need a new amp with HDMI, but want to wait for the new buch to hit the shops....

DSP A592 amp, Sony 360 BD player and not sure what the HD baox is....

BD player has an optical out, but the amp only has one optical out, so I can only use on lead at a time, hence having to plug / unplug each time I swith between sky box / BD player.

professorhat has the answer! thanks. Will I lose much signal quality? looks like the fix i need until I see the 2010 amp line up.....

Couldn't follow prof's link but he probably suggested one of these.

I used one on a mates system and didn't notice any difference in sound quality. They save unplugging a fairly delicate connection which is a pain (as you know) and also would prevent damage to the cables and ports. You can get one quite cheap on fleabay so give one a go.
