OK - get the laughter out of the way - I'm still using a Google Nexus 7, with Android 6.0.1 !, original battery, original charger adaptor.

Charging at home to 100% on battery icon, my McAfee Livesafe widget says I have about 12 hrs battery life available.

If I'm away from home ( holidays, at friends ), Livesafe will often say I then have 20 hrs+ for my 100% !!!

Is this down to the way Livesafe analyses my differing usage, or is my homes' electricity a bit sub-par ? !

Just seems a bit odd.
Cheers.

Yes, how it is used makes a difference.
Can't see the pint of the Widget as battery life left is built into Android by default.
Considering its age and depending how much you use it, I would say the battery is almost crapped out anyway, so time to upgrade. (Security updates would also have stopped years ago thus making it vulnerable to attack)

End of life for Android 6 was October 2015. I'm impressed that the battery is still functional at all, let alone getting anything remotely like 12 hours out of it. I doubt you got 20 hours even when it was new. Android 6 had precious little battery saving code, unlike the modern versions, and the battery in the Nexus 7 is a lot smaller than in my 2 year old phone.

Basically the internal Android code that McAfee are relying on is probably a bit rubbish outdated.

You should upgrade to a new device.
