Hi all

We have NTL cable at home and basically all I want to do is run a new length of cable under my floor so I can move my TV across the room and still get NTL. I obviously have the ntl box on the wall with a short lead to the box. For this I'll just run the cable behind the skirting and up the other side of the room.

Question is this. Is there any sort of difference in cable manufacturer? Or is it just a matter of nipping down my local 'lecy shop and getting a length? I'm looking at about 6m total cable length.

Any sugestions on cable type and make would be most helpful.

Thanks for the quick reply, on a sunday to. Checked out the links and it all makes sense. Seems strange that with all the talk of higher quality inter connects, cables etc to feed our equipment that we use what looks like bog standard 75ohm coaxial cable for a £1 / meter. Would of thought that the cable boys, QED, Chord etc would knock something out to cover this area of the market.

Or prehaps it is as simple as quid a metre cabling.

Thanks again

Just to point out it's probably in contravention of your original NTL Ts+Cs to use any unauthorised extension cable like this, and you should really ask the company to send out an engineer to extend your existing cables to the new location. What you choose to do with this piece of information is up to you...
