Novice advice needed?

Hi

I'm just about to invest some money (not much, on a budget) in my first seperates system, with the view to upgrade as time goes on. Can anyone offer any advice on what i've come up with so far, the items below are available as a package so changing them is not really possible but if you think the items below really wont work/sound good together please do tell? Equally if it looks ok then please give it the thumbs up and i'll enjoy the peace of mind!

What kind of music do you listen to, what's the room size, and what's the total budget?

Room size is relitivley small, 8ft by 11ft roughly, its for my hideaway room!

As for music varied wouldn't come close to describing my taste, if something is written well, sounds good, then i'll listen to it, from classical to pop to Indie to rock to Dance, my cd collection goes from Metallica to John Digweed, a real mix!

So i suppose i'm really looking for a well rounded system, sounds obvious suppose

Now comes the tricky bit though my budget is only £450, maybe stretch to £500 including cables!

Any ideas are greatly appreciated
