Updated media software has much improved interface. Photos slide and zoom with better folder viewer. FLAC plays from inbuilt music player. Video WMV works with AVIA media player. Brilliant update Google which negates much of the 'lack of USB support' gripes. A great tablet just made greater. Well done Google - Samsung & Apple etc etc - take note !

Sorry I have no idea. Tho I would hesitate to use any tablet or phone as a decent hifi source. My aim was to rip and copy to a single, small portable source and make all files available to all my players. Amp, tv, tablets and car. Maybe someone will give u a difinitive answer.

As long as you can get the file from the source to the speaker, and a bitperfect one at that, where the file is stored shouldn't make much of a difference. As I stream wirelessly from my iPod Touch (effectively, iPhone minus the phone) and sound quality is excellent, I wouldn't worry about streaming off the Nexus 7 or similar. Probably more stable than many mechanically based solutions!
