New Website

Yes - Im liking the new website too! Much improved.
Im also amazed at how helpful this site and its users have been to me in the past month or so.
All I had was a budget now I have a KURO and DAV-IS10, QED leads and a MASSIVE interest in home cinema - I even have some knowledge on it now!
Seriously thanks so much to all of you and well done on the site.
Im very pleased I found you all!

Like the new site. The reviews section is so helpful. Hardly need to buy the mag anymore!

Top stuff!

Just one bit of feedback on reviews (maybe something planned already) - would be really nice to be able to have enlarged pics of the back of certain things (like amps, receivers, blu-ray players etc.). Although you've got the tech specs sheet there which tells you all the connections, I just like the reassurance of looking at the back of a bit of kit and seeing it's definitely got whatever connection(s) I need! Also it helps with some things e.g. on the Onkyo 905, it says it has 3 digital optical inputs, but it doesn't say it has 2 on the back, 1 on the front. With the pics you can see these things so you know before you buy.
Otherwise, top stuff!

We do have a gallery option to add extra pics of products (including backshots!)

We will be implementing this shortly (within the next month, hopefully), but didn't want to delay the site for the sake of the time it's going to take to find and upload all those extra pics....

Andy Grange:May I be one of the first to commend you on the new site. Bravo to all involved, it's very slick

You'll be pleased to know your comments got quoted in an email we've just received from our MD thanking us all for our work on the site!

Fantastic site. Well done everyone. Love the reviews section. At last, I can scan in order of stars awarded!

Doesn't replace the mag at all in my view but is a wonderful compliment to it.

Would it be fair to say that when sorting reviews in order of high to low, the order products appear, within the same star category, i.e. all 5 stars, is an indication, at a more subtle level of the pecking order were you to get right down to the nitty grity. Of course, price is a factor so it would be a value judgement, but is there any logic to the order?

Hi Will,

Thanks for the feedback - advanced sorting by all kinds of criteria will come along in the next site refresh (give it a month or so!) Otherwise don't read too much into the ordering - matters like date the review was entered come into play, rather than value judgements...

No, it's probably totally random, and has something to do with the order in which the reviews were input into the database. Or something.

There's no subtle subtext involved.

HI May be its my eye sight but i'm not as comfortable reading this site as the last. I found my self squinting a bit!

Otherwise, i like the idea of having a lot more accesiible information etc.

Oh the dealer page; more usful by region me thinks otherwise a dealer starting with an A will always get the best spot. Cabs in the yellow pages mentality. I'm gonna start a business called AAA Audio!

Nice new look to site and Yes the Reviews section is a Big Thumbs up and I have already given My review Of My Samsung PS-50P96FDX. Only downer is since New site Launch I have lost all My advanced settings like Emotions ETC :-(

I know what you mean. I think it's mainly down to the colour of the text boxes, being to close to white. So all the posts seem to merge into 1 big mess.

I know it's still early days for the new site, but it's a huge improvement on the old forums. Big thumbs up

I love the fact that we can add our own comments on reviews. Which got me thinking about a previous post on tv settings. Would it be possible to add another tab on the reviews to include the properly calibrated settings that you use? And maybe we could add our own settings underneath. I know settings will vary depending on alot of factors but it might be a good base setting to use before tweaking to suit.

Anything's possible - it's something we'll look into.

In the meantime, users are of course more than welcome to post the settings they've found work best.

Yes, I'm also finding the separation between posts a little more difficult to detect. Suggest a little more colour is added to the CSS.

Wow! This is just what I've wanted! I've been buying the mag for a while and been visiting the website, but now it'll be a lot more often. I'll still get the mag because I like to read it other places, even though it's pretty expensive here in the US. Any chance of a US version of the site to focus on what we can get here?

Excellent site upgrade! I've been a fan of online review sites for quite a while, and this one is now one of the best I've seen.

As they say, anything is possible, but we're all still reeling a bit from the stresses of getting this one up and running, so don't hold your breath. Thanks for the kind words, though...
