New TV

Im about to buy a new TV and would appreciate some advice. Having read various magazines, the Samsung LE37R88BD and Panasonic TH-37PX70 have both caught my eye - full HD isnt that important but a decent picture is. I intend to have Sky and a surround sound system (considering either a Sony DAV-IS10 or Onkyo TX-SR505/605 plus suitable speakers and Marantz DV6001) so sound isnt that much of an issue, and budget for the whole shebang ideally around £1500 but could probably stretch to £2000 if it meant a better system. A bit new to this game so any help gratefully received!
