New to the amp.speaker game - recommendations please

Hi all,

Quick one here - after using an all in one Samsung home cinema system for the last few years I've decided to take the plunge and go for something a bit better!

Basically, budget is around £800-900 (amp and speakers all in).

In terms of priorities for what I'll be using it for: 1) Home Cinema 2) Xbox gaming 3) Playing music - Spotify or from Laptop via HDMI/Optical cable.

I've been on the Exceptional-AV website looking at their deals and having read through some reviews on here, am looking at the Onkyo 616 plus Q Acoustics Q2000i combo. (This is at £849.00)

If anyone can endorse that or offer me some alternatives it would be much appreciated.

Thought id say that richer sounds do that deal as well

but if u say to them i find it cheaper else where they will match the price

So if u want to buy it you can just pick it up, (just quicker)

if ur not in a hurry just wait for delivery

ive not heard that setup myself but my brother in law has it and he said it sounds great. he is really happy with it. The onkyo amp is a good one and those speakers are highly rated.

As mentioned earlier, richersounds actually price beat (£5 for anything under £300 and £10 for anything over £300) which aint too bad so its worth contacting them. also maybe ask to get it setup in the demo room for a listen
