Not really, Not once did i use the screen to navtigate through my libariy on the super/uniti2 always used the app far more intuitive than any screen. The only thing it was good for was telling the time, changing volume and seeing what source i had selected. Same will go for the new ones. You would be sitting too far away to even see it any how. Diplays on streamers are useless in my opinion showing far too much info in tiny font sizes. They look good?! but thats about it. The way Naim decribe it in there blurb the base model actually sounds like the one to get price per pound, with what sounds like 90% of the models up performance.

I would get the base model with an upgraded power supply and probably still have money left to upgrade the dac as well (i believe it has the potentail for such an upgrade think the ND5 did could be wrong)

the original nd5xs has the option for a psu upgrade....I suppose you're right about the screen thing..I just like it to be there on my superuniti...it does give some useful info on bit rate streaming etc.

ND5 XS 2 doesn’t offer a power supply upgrade option. NDX 2 does with either the XPS DR or 555 PS DR.

I think this is a very sensible way to keep the cost down. Most people end up using a smartphone or tablet to control them anyway.

Whether cheaper than the original model or not, for £2k I expect a display!

I'd want the display only so that I can switch it off. I really like to have an option but don't want anything emitting either light nor noise even LEDs are annoying in a dark room.
