There are many different opinions on this topic; here's one of them:

Spend around 10% on cables for your whole system, for the Denon I would say around £50 for a good mains cable. If you purchase from a good dealer (try before you buy basis) or even a web based dealer that offers a money back guarantee (Russ Andrews for example) you can test the cable. If you feel it makes the £xx difference, then keep it. If not, get a refund.

I think that's the best way to go about it buddy..

I have a 1909 and dont feel the need (yet) for an upgraded cable. You will enjoy it without for a few months, then if you want get a cable as the other poster says on a home trial. Also may be a good investment to get a Tacima. I always feel it is better to buy the equioment be blown away by it and then slowly tweak.

I have a denon av amp ~ cost 1k about 4 years ago

The lead was a part of the unit so I cut it off and soldered a male IEC to it and changed the cable for a 16 core solid silver one. The difference was staggering
