Were soon to commence work on our garage conversion the resulting living room (will contain dining room table too) will be 15ft x 8ft (separate storage area 8x5) I have now concluded my Dynaudio Audience 70 floorstanders are to be sold due to the room size.

I'm looking into wall mounting speakers from Dali and they will be mounted on the dividing stud wall.

So has anyone had any experience of the Dali Ikon On Wall Mk2 speakers ?

Any thoughts on the specs ?

or the Dali Mentor Menuet

Any other reccomendations ?

The Ikon on wall's are very good , match them with a decent amp and you will have a great open sound. You will ideally need a subwoofer to go with them, the Ikon sub is good but pretty big but if you are using the set up just for stereo you may want to consider the Dali Sub 2. It does not deliver the room shaking bass that home cinema demands but in a 2.1 set up it is very quick and as you would expect matches well with the Dali range.

PMC Wafer 2's are another choice but they are at the next price point up.

The Amp i will be using is an Arcam A85 using the Squeezebox touch as the source.

Does this amp have an input for a subwoofer ?

Doesn't need one.

Look for subs with high level inputs (somtimes called speaker level inputs). This will allow you to run a sub from the speaker terminals just like your regular speakers.

I know you won't have an issue as I run my sub from my A85 too. I use the 'Speaker 2' connections. This allows me to switch out the sub if I want to..... Not that I ever do as it sounds too good with it on.🙂

If you're looking for a recommendation. B&W's PV1 is a great sub.

Any other opinions/experiences with these speakers ?

The mentors are more future proof as then can be shelf mounted too but there brackets cost an extra £40.00.
