Hi, I could do with some help. I know non of you can make a decision for me but I thought I'd get some advice on what to do.
I'm currently on the look out for either a stand alone stereo amp, a new turntable or an AV receiver.
My current set up is:
7.1 Denon AVR 1906 ( I believe this to be faulty anyway as it turns off when at -40DB )2x Kef Q42x Kef Compact1x Kef Q6c1x Maudaunt Short MS 309 SubNAD 5120 Turntable with a NAD PP1The Q4s I have Bi-amped and they sound lovely but I think they could be so much better with either a different amp or a better TurntableHope this makes sense because Ive been trauling forums all day looking at peoples requests for amp ideas and now my head and my eyes are about to give up.Thanks for the help. Kyle

Also it seems like something happened to my post and its all joined up. It was spaced out properly.......

The NAD 5120 is a rarity, especially with the original arm. Not brilliant, but, assuming it's working fine, put on a better cartridge - what do you use at the moment? That said, had you not mentioned the amp and its problems, that would be the component I'd change first. NAD turntables became good when they got Rega to make them.

Can't really comment about the AV receiver because I know nothing about them, but the fact it is cutting out doesn't sound wonderful

The cartridge is an ortofon OMB.

The 5120 doesn't quite play 45rpm actually. Its running at 42 but runs ok at 33. I changed the belt last month which is why it runs at 42 previously it was running at about 38 Haha.

I'm very new to the whole Vinyl scene/ half decent audio equipment.

Also the receiver cutting out is extremely annoying. I suppose its my fault for turning the volume up but if I like loud I can't help that 🙂
