The 'G2' specs haven't been finalised/there's no official launch date as of yet, so could well be subject to change...

The 'G2' update is a new hardware/software spec, based on new chipsets that are appearing on the market, so the features won't be implemented on 1st gen tech (as the older chipsets won't support the new features obv.)

Though of course 1st gen tech will still continue to receive the current/existing services, so won't be obselete as such...
