Anyone else keeping their eyes on this one?

With featues such as:
  • Qdeo video processor
  • 3mm solid aluminium frame
  • Burr-Brown DACs
  • Supported files like DivX Ultra, MKV etc
  • Separate toroidal power supply
  • Touch sensitive controls
...I'm certainly looking forward to a review, to compare with the current ring-leaders...

WHF team...any news of an up-coming review?

I bought the bdp9500. Haven't heard it yet.

What struck me in the specifications was this:

There seem to be 3 lasers in the BDP-9500, For BD, DVD and CD respectively.

This must have, in combination with the DAC's a very positive impact on the sound quality.

Anyone comments on this??

so you've purchased it but haven't got it/set it up yet? How much is it?

I would like to know how good this player is too.

I have found the BDP-7500 retailing between £200-249 but I would like to see this one in action, I have been holding off a purchase on the Sony BDPS760.

Isn't this the player with the quick load time ? Well, quick for BD anyway !

I paid roughly 400 pounds for it (got a deal with the 42pfl9446 and AVR9900)

I will try to test the sound Q (and picture Q of course) when i got the machine (tomorrow evening it will arrive :) )

I admit, i took a bit of a gamble to purchase it without proper testing myself. WHF hasn't tested it yet, unfortunately.

I've had this player on my wish-list for some time, but currently it's out.

One reason is I'm waiting for reviews on the Cambridge player; another is that several forums report of 'lip sync' problems with the Philips.

Just having read the manuals for the 7500 and the 9500 I dont seem to find an option for lip sync, so unless you have an amp with that option...

I have the philips bdp7500 . there are a few pro reviews online now giving good reviews 8 out of 10 saying great hd pic quality and design. No lip sync. . I used to use my ps3 for blu ray , the philips is much sharper with more detail and vibrant colour when i tested watching the hulk near the begining when panning over the getto to the chase. However i now the ps3 it getting on a bit but still a good upgrade.
