hey

Iwant to buy a DAC for my media center wich is connectet to my audio system, a NAD 315BEE and a pair of Qacoustics 2020i speakers.

What Dac would you suggest?

i have looked at a M-dac, but do you think this would be a overkill for my system? i might upgrade the amp an speakers in a year or two.

The maksimum price 5-600£ but it would be nice if ti was in the 2-300£ range.

Hope you can help me :)

Given the task of a DAC being relatively straightforward, you can find an audibly transparent DAC for <£100.

Try the Epiphany O2-DAC. Another option for a transparent DAC is the Benchmark DAC at nearly ten times the price.

Paying any more than the price of the Epiphany DAC is uneccessary, unless you want additional functions and inputs.

Thx for the help

The Epiphany looks pretty nice, and a relly nice price, and just the things i need usb, RCA and jack.

Is it this one? http://epiphany-acoustics.co.uk/products-page/dacs/ehp-o2di-desktop-headphone-amplifierdac-3/

im allso going to use it for my beyerdynamics DT 990 Pro, do you think it have nough power for dose? Right now use the NAD to run the headphones, is this optimal?

The Rega is a bit pricy, so i would need some months for saving up, so i think i will try to find a place where i can try it, and see if i think its worth the money :)

The combined DAC and headphone amplifier use the same O2 DAC. The amplifier is excellent and also about as good as it is possible to be, ie transparent. It has enough power to drive just about any headphones.

The NAD may be perfectly adequate as a headphone amp, but I don't know about its credentials.
