I am getting rid of my Yamaha RX-V765 and I have short listed potential amps to sit on my rack

Onkyo 807, Yam RX-V2065 and Denon 2310. 3D business isn't important to me. Sound is. So which one will drive my Missions best ladies and gents?

Not keen on it (608). Well as for upgrading speakers I can't do that. There were bought only 2 months ago. can't really afford a new set to be honest. I have been offered good money for my 765. my budget is £500 and saw all 3 amps within my buget

As you say, a dedicated amp will be better with music, if that's gonn be your primary source then you should look at that, if it's gonna be 'av' then the Onk is a great amp.

yeah. I just want a AV receiver that will perform well with music and excellent with movies. Like I said stereo amps will perform better but Im after something decent enough music wise.

If you're using it for music, I 'd go for the Yamaha personally. I think that there will be some improvement over your existing amp, but not earth shattering as the differential isn't great enough. Just a thought - do you really have two subs and no centre speaker? It looks that way in your signature?

stopped using the roth one. I do have a roth center but will be changing it asap for a mission m3 series center. I will try and get a demo for both Onkyo & 2065 this weekend.

I have got the Yamaha in London today. Decided to stick with them. I might be deaf or something but evn though I increased the volume trim to 6db but it doesn't sound loud as the young brother 765.... However I do feel a improvement music wise. Will spin the blu-rays tomorrow and see how it perform. Got Flight of The Phoenix, 2012 and James Bond Quantam of the Solace. I am happy with the Monitor Audio Sub boy oh boy I am loving it.

done. thanks. Is it me going deaf. For some strange reason my mind keeps thinking the RX-V765 sounded louder at -65 compared to my new RX-V2065. I might be deaf
