Hi

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on and amp that will go well with Quad 12L2's, looking at some thing thats not as bass heavy as my NAD 326BEE

Any suggestions appreciated

The Audiolab 8000S sounded very good with the QUAD's when I heard them a while back but so did a Cyrus 8vs2 as well!

Is it just bass overload for you with the NAD?

Have you thought about the positioning of the speakers or looking at different interconnects/speaker cable?

Arcam A80 or A85 without doubt. It has a similar character to to Nad, lacks the welter of bass the Nad produces.

Deffo agree with the Arcam A85 suggestion.

Avoid the A90 though as even though it's got plenty of power it's gutless and lacks bass full stop!

I was actually looking to buy the creek evo2 before the NAD at the time but funds prevented me getting it....keeping an eye out for a evo MK1 aswell

Have tried positioning speakers in different places but not making much difference, haven't tried new cables, took my jumper cables of and went back to the metal strips as read on hear the jumper cables make the sound bassier, not much of a difference on the base, noticed the vocals were not as good without the jumpers so put them back on

Ye tried it with tone defeat on, still sounds boomy and overbearing to me anyway
