new amp or new speakers

im considering an upgrade to my hifi set up. i currently have a arcam cd73t cd player, arcam a70 amp and mordaunt short ms906 speakers. i feel the system lacks a little weight. im considering a set of monitor audio rs8 speakers as seen these 2nd hand fairly cheap or a arcam power amp . is there any other amps that will be suitable for my speaker/ cd player? i have around £500 to spend.
