New amp and subwoofer

Hi

I'm going to buy a new amp this week, which will be connected to Gale model 5 and 2. I don't want to change speakers so dont give me advice on buying new ones. I was considering Denon X-1000, Onkyo 616 and Pioneer VSX-923, but there is so little difference between them. Budget on amp is 500€.

Second thing is subwoofer, on which i can spend 400€. Can you recommend me one that will fit my future amp?

I have a 616 at the moment and whilst I'm very impressed with the sound, I've had no end of issues with it needing repairs (3 times in around 9 months), although I don't know if this is down to my particular unit or if the first repair job was done poorly. See if you can audition them? You may also want to look at the Yamaha RX-V673. Can't comment on the sub, sorry!

Thanks for the reply. This is an upgrade form Marantz SR580, which is still working perfectly fine after 15 years, so I won't ever get used to endless repairs. I heard also of HDMI issues in Onkyo. Don't know if it's actual. I also forgot to mention that this amp will be mainly used to watch films. Centre speaker is Gale Centre 1. My speakers are in 5.0 mode right now and i won't change it, so 5.1 receviers are most welcome. There's also problem with my speakers set up, so I would rather go for autocalibration than other extras.

Going by the budget you have for the subwoofer i would recommend a BK Sub Clicky with a choice of Front or Downward firing speaker pending on your preference & within your price i believe.

The AV amp there are lots of choices, the main contenders for me would be either Pioneer & Yamaha, that doesn’t mean i would not look at others like the Sony STRDN840. I would suggest an audition if possible, to make sure the sound produced & connectivity is to you liking & requirements.
