I'm running a REL quake with 5 B&W MT-1's off a and old Sony STR 940 reciever (due for upgrade very soon: either a Denon 1909 or Sony 2400). At the minute I just have the sub connected to the reciever via a QED sub cable, but would like to see if using a Neutrik cable will bring any improvements.

Can anyone suggest a reasonable cable? I looked at Russ Andrews but at £120 it was more than I was hoping to spend.

If you are thinking about the Neutrik Speakon connection on the REL, then I think that is for connecting the sub at speaker level (high level), which is not the same as the line level (low level) you are currently using and must use to accept the LFE out from an AV amp.

I may be wrong but my REL is connected both ways depending on whether I want a sub for stereo or for 5.1 duties.

I would like to use it for 2.1 duties, hence the interest in this cable..

I use the standard REL 10m cable (£20?). Works well.
