I have received some feedback from the ReadyNas Pro Forum that the NAS will not identify the Cambridge Stream 6 via USB, as the ReayNas Pro will only view any USB connected device directly connected to it as a backup storage HDD.
Therefore I am stuck. Whilst the Cambridge Magic Stream 6 works fine up to 96k over ethernet, it seems that the only way I can get 24/192k streaming using my Magic 6 is via the Cambrdige USB-B connection into, say a laptop connected directly into a USB port within 3 metres of my Stream 6. Then the laptop would need the Cambridge USB Windows driver to allow it to recognise the Stream 6. I guess I would then need to store my 24/192k files either on the laptop HDD or with any luck it might work via the laptop Ethernet connection to my ReadyNAS Pro.
A messy solution, but it seems that until Cambridge Audio release a software upgrade to solve the buffering problem, then I think this is the only solution available.
It's a shame as the Stream 6 is an excellent device in many other ways. If only it offered 24/192k streaming over Ethernet. It would be a fantastic buy and would sell like hot cakes!!!
