Hi. I'm new to these forums, so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place.

I'm just wondering whether anyone can advise on a really good pair of earphones, mainly to listen to classical music (usually orchestral). Are the Klipsch x10s good for this?

Thanks

FYI I would buy Sennheiser IE7 or IE8

What is your budget? Do you want in ear, on ear or around ear headphones? Do you want headphones that will leak sound (which has sonic advantages to you as a listener) or do not leak sound, so as not to annoy others nearby?

How good the headphones are with classical music will also be dictated by what amplifier you use.

Hi, thanks for this. I think probably around £300 would be the very top of my budget. I'm pretty sure that I'm looking for in-ear headphones. I'm not too bothered about whether they leak sound or not, though I guess it would be better for those around me if they didn't. I will probably mainly, although by no means exclusively listen to my iPod's collection of lossless classical stuff. I'm a concert pianist, so the stuff I listen to is mainly orchestral and solo piano, although again, not exclusively. Any help appreciated. This is a totally new field for me.

Looking into the IE7 and IE8s as well as the Klipsch x10s, which I can't seem to buy for love nor money at the moment
