Need help setting up

Hi all, i have the old technics dv290 system but having problems trying to connect things too it, i was hoping to connect it to my tv so i could use my xbox one through it and anything else that i have. I have a
Toshiba Regza 32AV615DB 32-inch lcd
I have tried a few things but dont really have a clue. i know i wont be able to get true surround sound but any advice would be much appreciated

I take it that this is an older hifi system? And doesn't have digital inputs? If so, two options.

one, if the tv has headphone output, connect from that using a 3.5mm to 2 RCA stereo cable. (Most cost effective)

two, if it doesn't, then you'll need a digital to analogue converter. Not sure with toshiba whether they use digital coax or toslink, but you'll need to check it out and buy a DAC that has the connection you require.

thanks for the advice , yeah it is an old hi fi system but very powerfull for it age, ill have a look what connections, i know it has a headphone output, will try and see what happens thanks
