Hello, I have right now 2 center channel and I wanted to try the experience of connecting both at same time but I would like to make sure that this will not damage the AV receiver. One is the wharfedale CS which is 6ohmns and, the other is the Dali Suite C0.7 which is 4 ohnms.

Could this damage either the receiver or the speakers?

Thanks.

EDIT: WARNING WARNING DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

Turns out my maths is dreadful, this will present a load of 2.4 Ohms to the amp, which it almost certainly can't handle, DON'T DO IT!

The maths is Zt = (Z1xZ2/Z1+Z2) where Z1 is the impedance of one of the speakers, Z2 is the other and Zt is total load. So in your case it's:

Zt = (6x4)/(6+4)

Zt = 24/10

Zt = 2.4Ohms

Even if you could do it, it'd sound odd though as, if memory serves, your two centres are different sensitivities, so one will be louder than the other and you won't be able to adjust it.

Have you tried upping the level on the centre channel as recommended in the previous two threads?

You could connect them up in series, your amp would then see a load of 10ohms, which it could probably cope with.

But with the speakers having different tonal qualities and different sensitivities, the main question still has to be, WHY?

What are you trying to achieve, better tone, more volume, or is it for the novelty value.

Thanks, that is quite a few "no's" already. I have already have the Dali set up at higher level as suggested and I like it (it does not integrate too bad with the front to be honest). With SPL meeter the Dali is 73 db while the other are 70db.

This was just a test that I wanted to do for the shake of trying. Well also because I have been testing them side by side and I can not decide a clear winner. Each one seem to lack what the other has.

Anyway, point taken, If there is the smallest chance of messing up and damaging the receiver then, I will not take the risk.

just a point, but im sure the dali suite centre is six ohms, not four... doesnt make it a better idea though.
