My dear wife has given me her blessing to purchase my first hi-fi system. I will have about 1700.0 USD to spend. The living room will give me 10 ft. from the front of the speaker to my ears. That will leave 1 foot between the speaker and the wall. I would like the Marantz cd6004 and Marantz pm6004. Would the Monitor BX2 speakers be the way to go? If not, would you please share some ideas. There's no way to demo here. Oh, I will be playing mostly classical. Thank-you very much! David

The Boston Acoustics A26s score 5/5 stars in this review, and they are around the same size and performance of the MA BX2s.
Given that they are made in the USA (and BX2s would be imports), I would assume the A26s would be less expensive - and more available to you locally - and leave a bit more budget for the rest of the system.
