Took my amp in for a basic clean up a few weeks back; sadly, the volume pot keeps dropping the right channel. I have a feeling the guy who's done the original work isn't too confident on this kind of amp (the ALPS volume pot and rest of the front controls are hidden behind a sealed recess, so access is tricky). Rather than put good money after bad, I'd like to find out if anyone out there can recommend a good servicing engineer that's familiar with 30-odd year old kit!

Preferably near Edinburgh (I'd ideally not like to post it out and will travel) and with a personal recommendation would be ideal.

Cheers all in advance.

Id give this guy a call. Hes going to do some work for me. After a phone call I get the impression he really knows his stuff. Great feedback and his quote was really reasonable. Youd need to post though unfortunately!

guy who serviced my amp only services Pioneers ... go here to AudioKarma.org on the Sansui forum, post your request and you will get good recommendations ...

Good luck and keep us informed

Servicesound in Bexley serviced the Yamaha I bought recently. The seller spoke very highly of them and the amp sounds great 2 years on. Not exactly near Edinburgh though.....
