Which would you prefer to drive PMC twenty 24's?

Naim NAC N 272 and NAP 200.

Or NAC N 172 Xs and NAP 250?

Both of these options are about the same price, so I'm keen to hear people's thoughts and experiences?

272 and a used 250.

+1 on the 2nd hand 250, there is a big difference between that and the 200. The 250dr is an improvement again!

+1 on the 2nd hand 250, there is a big difference between that and the 200. The 250dr is an improvement again!

And as long as the OP buys a current production used 250, rather than one of the very old ones, there's always the upgrade option at a later date. Heard old vs new 250 at a dem the other month, and I'd go for it if i could afford it.

Indeed, I'd be happy with the non dr for the time being, then upgrade when funds allow.

Having heard the differences myself, I would probably sell a limb to fund the dr work! Come to think of it, I heard those Naps running off a 272. That would be a cracking system with the Twenty 24s...
