Hello All,

My beloved NAD has died (only playing out of one of the stereo channels) and while I will be trying to get it fixed I am also looking at replacing it. I have just been out and bought the latest What HI Fi and have noticed the latest Marantz PM6002 which seems to have rave reviews.

This then meant a trip down to the local Richer Sounds and the guy there was pushing me pretty heavily towards the Cambridge range (which I have normally dismissed), has anyone got any advice opinions on this?

I also point out that when I buy the new amp I will also probably buy a matched CD player (I am a sucker for less remote controls)..............

thanks..........

If you liked/loved your NAD sound stage then stay away from Cambridge

They are chalk and cheese when it comes to sound!

If i were you i'd definitly be considering the NAD C352 (superfi do a great offer) or the NAD C355BEE which is also superb. I have auditioned both with my RS6 and my mates RS8 speakers and the amps were brilliant.

Great bass weight which wasnt muddy at all, smooth and precise! The midrange was well timed and the treble was very good, only ever so slightly forward with some vocals but the amps were turned up pretty loud!

Dan. Whats your opinion on the Marantz stuff compared to the Nad C352?

Im not a fan of Marantz.

Ive had the separates before and found the sound too clinical and the bass a little mushy at times.

The Marantz, to me, is chalk and cheese compared to the NAD separates and Arcam separates that i'm used to.
