My Student Budget System

Finally bought enough stuff over the last couple years to make it worth posting up. See signature for more details. Very pleased with setup, certainly gets its use in a house full of students. Not quite sure where to go next, so might give hifi spending a rest for a while.

Can't seem to display pictures properly. I've looked around forums for advice, seems there's a little 'insert URL' icon that's not showing up for me for some reason.

If I use Chrome I cannot get pictures to post, if I use IE then I can. Click on the tree icon and copy the URL into the top box, check image size to make sure it is 400 by 400 max and then insert. If that does not work then size the image on Flickr to a maximum of 400 by 400 and then copy and paste the URL into the reply and without leaving any spaces put [ img ] before and [ / img ] after the URL.

When I was a student all I had was a Matsui cassette boombox and I could buy a pint of lager from a pub (not the Union) for 70p.

Ha, that's the beauty of the student loan. Just as long as you're happy to live off microwave burgers and cereal the rest can be spent on things that matter.

No sub or rears, neither the money nor the room for them, so maybe after college is done with.

Thanks for all the good words, most of my purchases were based on advice from this forum so cheers for teaching me well.

Anyone have suggestions for where to build next? I've been thinking about getting a turntable eventually and stealing all my parents neglected LP's, but as I exclusively play music off my laptop's hard drive I'm suspecting a DAC would be mighty important.

a dac is probably a good idea, something like a dacmagic or a beresford. the beresfords have a reasonable headphone amp in them too.

i wish i'd had a room like that when i was a student, might have kept me out the pub....
