After a lot of consideration i decided to down grade from my hi-fi set up and just have a unobtrusive 5.1 set up, i really wanted to have some cash left over from the sale of my hi-fi for other things, so i set myself a strict budget of £1000 for the speakers and amp, luckily i managed to get the speakers brand new for £550 and this just left the amp, I managed to pick up the denon 2311 for £450 which was bang on my budget, i wanted to make the lounge minimal but tidy so decided to do a proper job of installing my system, the speakers cables have all been run behind the walls and meet behind the amp, everything has been redecorated and im now running it all in, The rel works extremely well with the m1 sats, and now i have actually managed to place it in the corner it sounds 10 times better (using both hi & low connections).

The denon 2311 was simple to set up and sounds superb staight out of the box, i did run the auto set up but also tweeked the settings using my spl meter and trusty tape measure, the distances were pretty close but the levels needed quite a bit of adjustment, everything else was simple to set up which is always a bonus.

music is very good indeed, actually shocked me how well its all come together.

movies are brilliant, infact better than my denon 2310. hard hitting clear and precise just the way i like it.

i have connected it all together with chord active silver plus hdmi leads, £29.99 each bargain..(not bothered about 1.4 spec)

i have used a chord crimson plus subwoofer lead & did'nt go silly with speaker cable just went for chord cadenza cable, perfect for the fiddly m1 sats.

bought my wife a wii to keep her sweet...

all controlled by my logitech harmony one!

Looking good.

I was just wondering about the M1s. Have you got them so the mounting post comes out the bottom rear of the speaker? On my wall mounted M1s, I reversed the mounting plate on the rear of the speaker so the mounting post actually comes out from the centre of the speaker (like does on your horizontally mounted centre speaker on the stand). Does this make sense?

I know it's just personal taste, but I like the fact you can't see my wall mounts from directly in front of the speaker.

Nice, Stig. Clean and simple. Perfect. I really like that the cables are out of view, chased through the walls. I've got cables all over the place it looks nasty.

cheers chris, that makes perfect sense. I was wondering when you was going to notice the deliberate mistake LOL..
