My first system!

Hi everyone,

Im at university and have just bought myself a budget system for my room :cheers:

a NAD 355EE (£115)

Monitor audio Radius 270 (£100)

and a new Rega 1 turtable as a birthday present.

Am i right to beleive I need a pre amp to play my turnatable with my current amp? and if so any reccomendations?

I was also looking for some advise on any cheap cd players to add.

hi mate just look on ebay for a phono stage you,l find plenty on there cheap enough if your amp hasnt a phono input

I picked one up off ebay for about £45 a while back. Very good player - the unique mechanism isn't just a gimmick - it reads discs exceptionally fast and does a very good job on scratched discs.

Hi and welcome to the forum

If your amp does'nt have a phono input, you ca look for a second hand Trichord dino which can be used for both MM/MC cartridge if you want to upgrade in the future. For a cd player as a starter, i would suggest from the brands like Arcam(Alpha or Diva series) and Sony ES series🙂

You can get a new Rega Phono amp fpr about £70. A cdp I would look at Marantz, you can get the 63KI for around £70 on an auction site.
