Always worth auditioning before parting with money, but the Naim XS is a good start. However, you'll need to factor in an off-board phono stage if you're planning a turntable. Alternatively, look at Leema Pulse, which has the phono stage built-in, and works well with Arcam. Also look at speakers such as Dynaudio, MA, Focal, Kef... all wonderful brands but all very different.
Apart from my Arcam CD72, my Hi Fi is over 25 years old, and in need of upgrading. Keeping my CD player gives me a budget of £3500. I have set my heart on a Rega RP6 TT and must have floor standing speakers. I was thinking of buying a Naim Nait XS amplifier along with Tannoy Revolution DC6T SE speakers. My room size is about 4m x 5m and I would be sitting approximately 3m from these speakers. Would this be a good combination or can anyone suggest alternatives?
