Just been playing some Blu-rays but it is not working, any ideas? Master audio and the rest are working. The amp is a Pioneer Vsx-lx70!

Is the Blu-ray definitely set to the Dolby TrueHD soundtrack? Some older ones defaulted to the Dolby Digital and you had to manually select the TrueHD version.

Why would you do that?

It just reads PCM then.

IF there are any differences in quality of which component decodes then I'd trust the oppo more. If not, you don't lose anything.

That's correct if the Blu-ray player is decoding.
If the Blu-ray is setup correctly (i.e. check Secondary audio isn't enabled as this defaults the main soundtrack as I remember), then sounds like the amp is faulty I'm afraid.
BenLaw said:Yes the AVR will read PCM but you will be getting the proper soundtrack, decoded by the oppo. And turn the volume up!

I don't like doing it that way.

I think he's suggesting that you have a read of the manual.
