Great looking set up. did you not find the cd racks a pain to fit?

I had 6 of them (3 cd 3 dvd) and you can either screw the brackets in and then struggle with the wall, or the other way round. I think i needed a flexible screw driver!

Yes! They were a major pain, but I think it was worth it. It was also tricky making sure they were level. But for the price they work and look great. I screwed the brackets to the wall first, then used my hand to screw the brackets to the cd rack part. Then I tightened the last turn with a teny-tiny screw driver.

I put the rack together first, leveled and marked the holes, then I pulled off the brackets and mounted them. Definately a tricky operation. LOL!

Thanks to you and others that have giving me some good advice. Really sounds very nice. I believe I own 3 of your recommendations all of which I'm very fond of: Quad 909, Chord Odyssey 2 (great!), and Chord CSP.

Neat looking system, Jax. How did you decide on the Nad/Quad combo? was it recommended or lengthy listening sessions? (How do you keep your room so tidy?)

Thanks! Well, I'd like to say I auditioned dozens of brands, but it's very hard to demo gear where I live. I decided I wanted the QUAD amp, but I didn't like the QUAD pre-amp. So I decided on the NAD just because I'm a NAD lover. Sounds very good, but eventually I might try something more exotic...

Have you thought about ditching the pre-amp completely and going straight from cdp to power amp? I did this some years ago with HUGE success, great sound.

And so the search for the best system continues...Jax and his upgraditus!
