Musical sub for MA BX2s and Sonos Connect:Amp?

Can anyone recommend a good, articulate, musical sub to go with BX2s being driven by a Sonos Connect:Amp? I mainly listen to soul, ska, jungle and more or less anything with a bassline! Would like to keep costs to around 300£ but would have no problem getting a second hand unit if that is advisable?

I was not questioning your motives but whether you 'need' a subwoofer, whose output will be mostly below 70-80hz, in order to enhance bass presence and punch in your system.

It has been my experience that, for most 'rock' music, the critical range is the two octaves 80 - 300hz. This means better speakers with a bigger bass driver and (awkward in your setup) a more powerful amplifier.
